The Fund for Our Economic Future is a collaboration of more than 100 foundations, organizations and philanthropists from across Northeast Ohio that support the initiatives of Advance Northeast Ohio through grantmaking, research and civic engagement.
The Fund’s grantmaking to regional economic development organizations is focused on the four action areas of Advance Northeast Ohio:
- Business growth and attraction
- Talent development
- Growth through racial and economic inclusion
- Governmental collaboration and efficiency
The Fund sponsors research to identify the steps needed to advance the initiatives of Advance Northeast Ohio.
The Fund engages the public and leaders from the private, civic, labor, education, government and other sectors to advance and accelerate the initiatives of Advance Northeast Ohio. The region's economic action plan is based, in part, on the input of more than 20,000 citizens who participated in Voices & Choices, a civic engagement exercise conducted by the Fund in 2005-06. Considered the single largest civic engagement exercise in the United States at the time, Voices & Choices established the region's economic priorities.
